I can usually put a humor twist but there is one thing not to joke about. Your Physical Safety during a divorce.
Divorce is the most dangerous time of a woman's life. You are automatically a Target to Someone
WHY?
If you are concerned about a stalker, securing your home and ensuring your safety should be a top priority. Here are some steps you can take:
At Her Tribe, we believe that everyone deserves access to quality community support services. We approach each client with compassion, respect, and empathy, and strive to create a safe and welcoming environment for all.
Ensure your windows are covered to prevent anyone from seeing inside, which can limit the stalker’s knowledge of your routines.
Use reinforced locks and consider adding security bars to windows. Regularly check that all entry points are secure.
Limit the amount of personal information shared publicly, especially on social media. Remove any identifiable information that could be used to track you.
Identify safe places nearby (friends' houses, police stations, etc.) where you can go if you feel threatened.
A peephole allows you to see who is at your door without opening it.
Be prepared with a plan of action should you need to leave your home quickly.
Prioritize your safety and consider seeking legal advice if needed. It’s also important to reach out to friends, family, or support groups for emotional support during this difficult time.
